ICEDT Terms & Conditions

By registering, becoming a member, attending, exhibiting or hosting a function at any ICEDT events, you agrees to be bound by the following terms and conditions in total. Paying for a conference or membership is taken as acceptance of these terms and conditions and it is the member or attendees responsibility to read and understand these before becoming a member or placing an order for any of our product and services with ICEDT.

 

Registration Payment

Payment MUST be received before the closing date for registration and payment for the events or membership where required. If payment has not been received within the stipulated period, you will not be prepared for in the case of an event or granted membership access as the case may be. Unfortunately, we cannot make ANY exceptions.

 

Hotel Bookings

ICEDT does it's best to provide members and participants of ICEDT events with hotel information on it's website relative to the location where the event is schedule to hold. We accept no responsibility of liability for the services provided by the hotel. Hotel rooms may sell out at the preferential event rate in which case the hotel will contact the attendee to discuss alternative options where available. We do not guarantee the cheapest available rates, hotels do. In the case where links are provided on the ICEDT website  to a recommended hotel(s), then the arrangement for accommodation and any other services is made directly between the attendee and the hotel and ICEDT bears no responsibility for any aspect of this arrangement.

 

Data Privacy

Personal information provided as part of the registration process will be handled by ICEDT in accordance with our privacy policy and relevant laws. ICEDT may pass names and any other relevant personal data to the venue to allow the venue to comply with reservation, safety and security policies and procedures. ICEDT may pass names and any other relevant personal data to partner organization and/or workshop/course leaders to allow for provision of event/course services such as certification.

ICEDT may publish an attendance list consisting of attendees’ names and organisational details which will be distributed to all attendees and exhibitors attending the event unless the attendee has specifically requested that he/she  be omitted from this list by sending email notification to [email protected] seven days prior to the event starting.

 

Code Of Conduct

ICEDT is committed to diversity and to providing a harassment-free event experience or membership. It is a condition of attendance that the attendee will at all times abide by the ICEDT Code of Conduct. Members and attendees breaching the ICEDT code of conduct may have their membership revoked or be asked to leave the event and in this case, no refund will be payable.

 

Guests

It is worthy of note that attendees of ICEDT events are not permitted to bring guests into any venue under any circumstances except with specific permission from ICEDT event team. If a guest is authorized by ICEDT then they must wear an official event badge provided by ICEDT throughout the event. Any guest not wearing an official badge will be asked to leave the event.  

All workshops and seminars are advertised in good faith but circumstances beyond our control may result in amendments or cancellations. Where spaces are limited all workshops and seminars are offered on a first come, first served basis. No guarantee is made for access to any specific workshop or presentation during the conference or event.  

 

Cancellation

At any point in time you wish to cancel your event registration then please email [email protected] at the earliest possible time and provide your booking reference or invoice number.  

We will accept event registration cancellations 7 days to the closing date of registration and payment. All cancellations must be submitted in writing. Full event registration cancellations will be subject to a Summit - $100 administration fee respectively for non members and $50 for members. After the cancellation deadline, no refunds will be granted. Registration fees paid are refundable less the cancellation fee. If you are unable to attend, substitutions are accepted. You may substitute another individual in your place. Please email [email protected] with your registration reference or receipt number and the full details of the changes to be made.

 

Liability

ICEDT and the host venue accept no responsibility or liability for the loss or damage to personal effects belonging to attendees or any permitted authorized guests.

ICEDT reserves the right to cancel the event or vary any part of the event at its discretion. If an event is cancelled, the maximum liability of ICEDT is the return of any money paid by attendees to ICEDT after non-refundable costs have been deducted such as keynote speaker fees.  

There shall be no liability for variation made to the event proceedings. Where variations are to take place or there is to be cancellation, ICEDT will endeavor to give as much notice as reasonably possible.

ICEDT will not be liable for any failure or delay in the delivery of the event which is caused by circumstances beyond its control. Circumstances could include, the failure of hosting venue or caters to deliver its services, Acts of God, industrial (Union) action, acts of terrorism, risk of infection from disease, anything liable to compromise public health, safety or civil disorder.

Event attendees should ensure they are suitably covered by personal  insurance and especially those who are travelling to the event from overseas or across states. 

All speakers at the event are attending on their own behalf and ICEDT is not liable for anything they say or do. Under no circumstances will ICEDT be liable for any travel or accommodation costs if the event has to be cancelled for any reason. Attendees should ensure they always book refundable flights and hotel rooms.

 

General

These conditions are the entire conditions between the parties relating to membership and ICEDT event, and supersede all other understandings. No temporary forbearance shall constitute a waiver. No third party may rely upon these conditions. The applicable law shall be African law and the African Courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

 

Waiver of Claim

In the course of your membership or attendance at ICEDT events, ICEDT will make extensive use of digital photography and video recording to document the event without any compensation to you, and you release ICEDT of any liability thereto. It is a condition of attending the event that the attendee agrees that ICEDT may use images for publicity and promotion purposes. ICEDT will only use images which present the attendee in a professional manner and appearance.
